Over the past 20 years we have collected some of the coolest dot com domain names we could find available. Everytime we brainstormed about a product or a business we went out and located 5-10 domains names. Over the years we acquired a few hundred names. We made sure along the way to avoid trademark conflicts and cyber squatting. We were interested in names that no one have thought off before. The Google before google existed. Over the time we managed to secure some very cool names, some very funny names and some unique names.
Every time we worked with young entrepreneurs, the first obstacle we found out that they waist so much time on is picking a good name. So in 2007 we set our sights at building an educational site with a business plan to help founders pick a good name and also secure the dot com domain name. Margot started blogging about what makes a good name, we started cataloging our names under specific categories, we started defining a value/price model for domain names, and we started defining what makes a brandable name and BrandBucket was born.
Before you start, NO, a name is not a brand, it is the shell of the brand, it is what the customer hears first and it is one of the most important attribute of a brand, and inside you have the product, the attitude, the customer service and everything else that gives the brand it’s soul. What brandBucket is set to do is make sure that you have a name that is fitting with the rest of your brand appeal. Working within your budget, BrandBucket has domain names, with pre-designed logos as sample brands that you can imagine your product or service under.
BrandBucket today enjoys it’s 2 year anniversary as a web service that has helped many founders, CEOs, entrepreneurs and VCs secure great names for their most prized possessions, their business. Happy Birthday BrandBucket and congratulations on job well done.
